Does not contain a cider ingredients kit, this allows you to pick your own cider kit. We recommend the Magnum Apple Cider.
Just applying a bit of modern technology has made brewing cider so much easier and enjoyable! This starter kit really makes the whole process so simple and mess free. And its incredibly cost effective too.
It enables cider making without regularly opening the fermenter, thus avoiding washing and sterilizing thermometers and hydrometers etc, and it also keeps air away from your precious brew.
For easier filling of cider bottles, the fermentation bucket has a "Little Bottler" mechanism attached: just push the bottle up and when full, lower it - the flow of cider automatically stops. No more messing with syphons and spilling cider everywhere!
It also contains a hydrometer and trial jar which can be filled without opening the fermenter. Again, no messing around.
A liquid crystal thermometer attached to the outside of the fermenter means you can monitor the temperature, once again without opening the fermenter.
Comes with 100 grams VWP Cleaner/Sterilizer, the best!
It does not contain bottles (you should invest in the new technology Coopers Ox-Bar 24 500ml PET Bottles (better than glass bottles), but ordinary clear plastic 375ml or 750ml fizzy water bottles will work and you can collect these while your brew is fermenting without incurring the cost of buying special bottles.
This new kit now comes with a high quality translucent (no colouring agents in the plastic) polypropylene 33 liter fermenter (we found that 25 liter buckets overflow through the airlock, making quite a mess and posing an infection risk). It also comes with a proper bubbler airlock.
Contains:
33 liter translucent fermenter with lid, bung and bubbler airlock
Little Bottler bottle filling system
Hydrometer and Trial jar
Plastic Stirring Paddle
Liquid Crystal Thermometer
100 grams VWP Cleaner/Sterilizer
You should consider buying a brewbelt heater (keeps the temperature up to about 22 oC, required for most cider kits). We have the perfect brewbelt for less that the UK RRP (see below).
Special tip: before you add the yeast, make sure the temperature is not too high! If the temperature drops below the recommended range, fermentation simply slows down. But if it gets too high, the cider can be ruined.
For no more mess priming bottles with sugar, order Cooper's Carbonation drops: just pop a tablet in and fill the bottle. For a better quality cider we suggest you order Brewing Sugar and use it instead of ordinary sugar.
If you want to use glass bottles, then you will need Crown Caps Gold, Pack of 70 (Best Value) and the Twin Lever Capper (Black) (see below).
SPECIAL TIP: Use a dishwasher to wash your empty glass bottles, it's incredibly effective at cleaning them. DO NOT put plastic bottles in a dishwasher!
