Alcotec Base Spirit Packs, High Alcohol Yeasts, Clearing Agents, And Carbons
Recent developments in yeast technology have enabled home brewers to produce a quality base spirit from 14 to 23% ABV. We suggest you start with the Alcotec Spirit Base Kit or the Vodka Kit because they will yield a quality 20% ABV base spirit. You will also get to use all the ingredients with proper instructions. Then all you have to do is select any three essences, enough to flavour 6 bottles of 20% ABV spirit.
More experienced liqueur makers may wish to purchase all the ingredients separately and produce from 6 to 30 bottles. These ingredients include:
- high alcohol yeast /nutrient packs (producing 25 litres of 14 to 23% ABV),
- clearing agents (special finings used to clear the base spirit),
- liquid activated carbon (used to remove fermentation byproducts and impurities), and
- essences (used to flavour the spirit).
The ”Karbons” are two new activated carbons with extreme absorption of impurities in liquids. Pure Karbon has a granular size of 0.4-0.85mm and the standard Karbon has 0.4-1.4mm. The older 36610 is our value-for-money all round type.
